The Hytera PD405 is one of the few two way radio models that can operate in both analogue and digital modes simultaneously. Many two way radio models are billed as ‘hybrid’ as they can be programmed to work as either analogue or digital radios. But with the PD405, an advanced signalling feature allows the radio to automatically detect the type of signals being used by other radios and automatically switch between analogue and digital as required.

This makes the Hytera PD405 the ideal for completing a smooth migration from analogue to digital in your radio fleet. Upgrading from older analogue models to new digital two way radios can be expensive, but the Hytera PD405 lets you make the step up gradually. You can start out with just one or two introduced to an analogue fleet. Its controls are simple and user-friendly – a push-to-talk (PTT) button, two programmable buttons, channel select and volume control – meaning it is an ideal choice for the novice two way radio user as well as for more experienced professionals. Despite its compact size, the PD405 is also robust and reliable.

The PD405 also proves its versatility with a flexible range of communications options. As well as standard whole network ‘All Call’ mode, it offers private and group calling, ensuring seamless communication as colleagues can target messages and discussions more efficiently. The Direct Mode TDMA radio system allows two conversations to take place simultaneously on the same digital voice slot, meaning you can double channel capacity and therefore boost the number of calls that can be made on the network at once,

For added convenience when operatives are really busy, there is the option to switch to VOX – a voice activation mode which means calls will transmit just by talking, without having to press the PTT button. You can also pre-programme text messages into the handset and send them using one of the additional function buttons.
