More information

The LT5000 Series further cements Lugra’s reputation for producing high-quality, supremely reliable two way radios at attractive prices.

One of six handsets in the series, the LT5100D is a digital non-display model ideal for general-purpose communications in a wide range of settings. As you would expect, it offers all the usual advantages of digital two way radio technology-enhanced audio clarity, which makes it a good option for use in settings where there is lots of background noise, an extended 22 hours battery life in Battery Saver mode, increased radio communication signal coverage and more.

Like all Lugra products, the digital radio boasts excellent build quality with the durability to withstand heavy use indoors and out. With an IP54 rating, it is certified as dust and splash-protected.

It is also a handset designed for convenient, hassle-free operation. With chassis dimensions of 127 x 57 x 32mm and weighing just 208g, the LT5100D is compact and comfortable to carry. With the usual push-to-talk controls, it can easily be operated in one hand, while it also comes with optional VOX (voice-activated) functionality for added hands-free convenience.

The LT5100D two-way radio operates on both VHF and UHF frequencies, which means it can be flexibly deployed in wide open outdoor spaces where the extra signal range is required, or inside buildings where higher wave frequencies perform better at passing through obstacles without interference. It offers 256 channels with options to assign call groups or to make private calls direct to individual radios.

With use in business and industry in mind, the LT5100D includes several features designed to support health and safety management in the workplace. A one-touch Emergency Alarm allows users to send an alert across the entire network with the press of a button, helping to speed up response times or issue warnings instantly.

LT5100D digital radio handsets can also be programmed with Man Down, a feature which uses position and motion tracking to detect a fall and issue an automatic alarm to all other users. Similarly, Lone Worker requires anyone working alone in a potentially hazardous environment to check back in with colleagues via their radio at fixed intervals – if a check is missed, an alert is automatically sent.

Alongside health and safety, the LT5100D two-way radio also prioritises privacy and security. All communications are encrypted, so even if frequencies cross over with other two-way radio networks, external devices will not be able to ‘listen in’ on communications as they cannot unscramble the signal. The range also offers a Remote Kill function which allows a handset to be disabled if it is lost.

Systems Supported

Lugra two way radio handsets support both direct mode operation (DMO) and trunked mode operation (TMO). DMO is the technical term for ‘back-to-back’ operation, where handsets communicate directly with one another without the need for any other equipment. DMO is therefore an easy, convenient and cost-effective way to use two way radios. TMO uses ancillary equipment like antennas and repeaters to boost the quality of coverage over a wider area, and can be useful if you want more reliable communication in both indoor and outdoor settings.
