LIMITED STOCK – BEING REPLACED BY MOTOROLA R2 (ANALOGUE)

Reliable, robust, cost-effective – the Motorola DP1400 delivers everything you want from a classic two-way radio handset. Whether you are on the farm or the construction site, checking machinery in the factory or packing shelves in the warehouse, this workhorse of a radio is perfect for the everyday user who wants to stay connected.

The DP1400 is what is known as a hybrid radio, which means that it can operate in both analogue and digital modes. Programmed as an analogue two way radio, the DP1400 can transmit and receive using both UHF and VHF frequencies, which makes it highly versatile and well-suited to both indoor and outdoor use. It is modelled on the popular Motorola CP040 analogue two-way radio which it replaces.

The DP1400 digital radio is ergonomically designed and compact, making it a highly portable two-way radio. It fits comfortably in the hand and most of the core functions can be activated with a single press of a button. The main function is the push-to-talk button used to transmit calls, but it also features two programmable buttons on the side. These can be used to set up one-touch operations for a range of functions, such as issuing a network-wide alarm in an emergency or sending pre-programmed text messages.

The DP1400 can help protect workers in other ways, such as the Lone Worker function which allows other users to monitor colleagues operating alone in risky environments. Priority interrupt enables a supervisor to interrupt a DP1400 user to deliver critical communication  exactly when needed.

Designed with the needs of industry in mind, DP1400 handsets are also built to last – the engineering has been put through Motorola’s Accelerated Life Test, a demanding durability assessment which verifies that the DP1400 can withstand five years’ worth of service in full working order.

The DP1400 features Motorola’s best-in-class audio technology, offering superior audio quality in all environments so the message always gets through. Long-lasting battery means each handset will keep operating for up to 14.5 hours on a single charge, so is sure to see staff through long shifts. It comes with 16 available channels which are scanned using a convenient tuner knob located on the top of the handset and have an operational range of up to 3km when used in outdoor open spaces in VHF mode.

Systems Supported

As part of the MOTOTRBO family of radios, the DP1400 is compatible with a number of advanced systems developed by Motorola Solutions to maximize the advantages of digital two way radio.

The Motorola Solutions DP1400 can be operated using Motorola’s Radio Management Suite. This allows batches of radios to be programmed remotely to a standardised template, helping to speed up configuration and updates, minimise errors and optimise performance.

Using the 2-slot TDMA DMR standard, DP1400 handsets can double channel capacity via Dual Capacity Direct Mode. This increases the number of users you can have on a single site, reducing potential licence costs.

Direct Mode can also be use to extend signal coverage across a single site. You can also use DP1400 radios with Motorola’s IP Site Connect radio system, which connects radio networks across multiple sites via the internet and allows dispersed teams to communicate seamlessly with one another.
