The NX-3220E3 is a non-display portable two way radio which combines the latest in advanced digital technology with user-friendly operation. It’s packed with convenient features like Bluetooth® for hands-free operation and built-in GPS, enabling it to serve with distinction in a wide range of enterprise and industry settings.

A multi-protocol digital radio, the NX-3220E3 can operate as both a digital and analogue handset simultaneously. This means it is perfect for using in mixed analogue and digital fleets, and allows older analogue radios to be upgraded gradually.

Part of Kenwood’s Nexedge range, this versatile handheld radio supports both NXDN and DMR digital protocols as well as FM analogue protocols. This makes the NX-3220E3 highly flexible, especially in terms of scaling up to larger deployments and expanding channel capacity through trunking.

Using the DMR protocol, dual slot direct mode can double the channel capacity to scale up the size of the network, and also supports site roaming so you can use the same handset in multiple places. In NXDN mode, Type C and Gen2 trunking can increase the overall number of channels available even further. NXDN also supports over-the-air-programming for configuring handsets remotely via Wi-Fi. Additionally, software license certification system facilitates extensive customisation of features to suit a host of different business categories.

The Kenwood NX3220E3 is compact yet designed with durability in mind, with industry-standard certification for water, dust, temperature and shock resistance. It operates on VHF bandwidths, with 64 available channels without trunking or expansion. VHF frequencies offer good signal range and are often chosen as the best option for use outdoors on farms, large-scale construction sites and for marine use.

To compliment the reliable construction, the NX-3220E3 showcases renowned Kenwood audio quality, featuring trademark Active Noise Reduction (ANR) technology. This ensures audio is clean and clear regardless of the volume of background noise, ensuring the message always gets through.

For peace of mind in challenging environments, the NX-3220E3 includes a number of safety features. An Emergency Button sends a network-wide alarm out to all users, overriding any calls in progress even if all channels are in use. It also includes Man Down, which uses a motion sensor to trigger an alarm should a user fall or have some other kind of accident.

All NX-3000 series radios feature an integrated GPS receiver/antenna which shares location data for every handset.  They also feature built-in Bluetooth for wireless hands-free operation. Each handset utilizes built-in DSP (digital signal processing) for identifying applicable Bluetooth profiles. It comes with Headset Profile provided as standard (HSP), with SPP (Serial Port Profile) available as an option.

Despite this rich range of features, the NX-3220E3 is designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. With no display, the only control functions are a push-to-talk button, a volume control and channel selector, plus the emergency button, keeping things straightforward even for the novice user.

The Kenwood Communications NX-3000 series features three different models of VHF radio in total. The NX-3220E is a standard keypad model with LCD display and a large 4-way D-pad, the NX-3220E2 features a display and D-pad only. The NX-3000 series also includes three UHF models, including the NX-3320E3, like the NX-3220E2 a basic model without LCD or keypad.
