The Hytera PD795Ex portable radio was designed as the world’s first intrinsically-safe digital two-way radio. Meeting the requirements of the IEC and European ATEX directives, the Hytera PD795Ex ensures reliable communication in hazardous environments where explosive gas and combustible dust are likely to occur.
To provide such an advanced level of protection, an ATEX intrinsically safe two way radio is housed in a rugged, anti-static, hermetically sealed shell, so no explosive gases and dust particles can ever come into contact with electrical currents inside the handset. In addition, the PD795EX is waterproof and dustproof to the IP67 standard. Advanced ergonomics ensure seamless operation in the most demanding conditions, with a non-slip surface making the device easy to grip and carry around even when wearing gloves.
The sturdy PD795 Ex comes with a special latch design which ensures that if the radio falls onto a hard surface, the radio stays in place. A high capacity long life battery avoids the need for recharging during long, hard shifts. To reduce the risk of an accident, any low-security batteries and accessories will automatically trigger an alarm if connected.
The Hytera PD715Ex two-way radio has been designed to help maintain the highest safety standards for personnel, too. It features a highly visible emergency button which overrides active calls to instantly summon help. Lone Worker monitoring automatically raises an alarm if a radio user is unconscious or injured by requiring them to check in with the network within a fixed time frame. If the timer expires, an alarm is triggered. Man Down fall detection triggers an alarm it it detects unusual movement in the handset.
This radio also supports GPS tracking to improve safety response. GPS will send location data from any radio that issues an alert to help colleagues find the source quickly.
While the focus of the Hytera PD795EX handheld radio is on safe communication in dangerous environments, it does not compromise functionality in other areas. With multi-mode operation in FM standard, Tier ii and iii DMR and digital trunking modes, this is a highly flexible radio that can adapt to a wide range of use cases. It is capable of operating in conventional analogue or digital modes simultaneously. As a digital radio, noise cancellation ensures cut-glass audio clarity, removing the risk of ground crews missing crucial safety instructions. And all calls are kept secure with 40-bit encryption.
Using pseudo-trunking and XPT digital trunking, a Hytera patented technology, the frequency slots on which calls are transmitted can be shared to increase capacity either direct to handset or to repeater. Trunking also allows for roaming, which gives users the freedom to move between sites seamlessly, with radios connecting automatically via Multi-site Conventional and XPT systems.
The full keyboard and the sharp LCD colour display help to improve operational efficiency. Plant managers can tap out texts as well as make speedy calls to key personnel, work groups, or the whole team.
