The Hytera PD705G is the GPS-compatible version of the popular PD705 business radio. This handheld DMR digital radio offers a vast array of functionality, delivering crisp audio communication paired with the additional benefits of GPS location technology.
As well as all the advantages of digital technology, this professional digital two-way radio offers the option of mixed mode usage so users can still connect with analogue radios. It supports individual, group, all call and emergency call modes for total flexibility, and benefits from digital voice optimisation technology for complete audio clarity.
The Hytera PD705 variant with GPS is tailor made for large teams operating in tough, harsh environments. Every handset is IP67-rated, meaning it can survive being immersed in water for short periods and will resist dust ingress. Its compact, ergonomic shape and ease of operation is coupled with remarkable build quality and durability that has been tested to MIL-STD-810 for impact, vibration and shock resistance.
This popular all-rounder also helps keep personnel safe. Choosing the PD705G means you get optional Man Down monitoring along with GPS capabilities. With Man Down, an in-built gyroscope detects falls and other unusual movements, issuing an alert to other users. This complements Lone Worker, which sets a timer on radio activity. If a worker doesn’t use their handset within a fixed period of time, a warning is issued, and if there is no response to that, the alarm is triggered. There are also Emergency Mode and Priority Interrupt functions, which issue alarms to other users and override calls on busy channels to ensure critical messages get through.
When there is an alarm raised, GPS tracking means you can pinpoint the location whichever radio the alarm came from. This can be critical if a user is unconscious or injured badly and can’t use their radio to direct colleagues. The PD705G can lock on to a satellite within 10 seconds from a hot start, and is accurate to a range of 10 meters or less.
For larger teams, the PD705G supports two advanced digital functions that boost how efficiently available frequency resources are used to allow for more calls and users. Pseudo trunking is a Hytera patented technology that shares call slots to increase capacity. It is also compatible with Hytera XPT, or extended pseudo trunking, which dynamically assigns channel resources in a fluid on-demand fashion without needing a dedicated control channel.
To keep sensitive communications secure, the PD705G comes with built-in 40 bit enhanced encryption as standard. Advanced encryption (Hytera or DMRA 128 bits and 256bits AES) is available via chargeable licence file.
