Cheers All Round for Two Way Radio

Brentwood Communications helped ensure plenty of glasses were raised as it provided two way radio support at the Cotswold Beer Festival.

The festival, which took place over the last weekend in July, is held at the historic Postlip Hall, a Jacobean manor house in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside. Some buildings on the surrounding estate date back to the 12th Century.

Nowadays, the Hall is owned and occupied by a cohousing community, a group of eight families living in separate homes within the manor house. They, alongside Gloucestershire Camra, organise the beer festival every year.

Reaching its 41st edition this year, the beer festival is an ever popular highlight of the local calendar. With a selection of 75 real ales showcased from breweries around the country, plus ciders and perries, there was plenty on tap to keep everyone merry throughout the weekend.

Brentwood was invited to provide two way radio support to event organisers to help during set up and throughout the weekend.

Reliable, straightforward radio

We provided a fleet of Lugra Evolve E55 handsets. The Evolve E55 is an ideal option for one off outdoor events, combining high quality, reliable reception and audio with straightforward controls.

A hybrid radio, the E55 can operate either on analogue frequencies, which means it can still communicate with any older legacy radios you have, or on digital, and is fully compliant with DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) standards.

It is a compact and lightweight non-display model, easy to carry around when you are on your feet helping to run a busy event. Its simple control panel consists of a channel tuner, volume control and a Push-to-Talk button. It has a battery life of 13.5 hours and a maximum range of 3km, so coverage at a medium sized outdoor event is not a problem.

As well as those core features, the Evolve E55 also includes some handy add ons, including support for private calling. So if you need to speak to a particular colleague urgently, there is no need to broadcast across the whole network. For business and industrial users, it also includes basic voice encryption so you can be sure your communications remain private over the airwaves, plus it can feature a Lone Worker monitoring system.
