Morrisons operates a fast-growing meat processing plant in Deeside. Recently they expanded the production of sliced meat and deli products, to include a new range of ready-to-eat chicken meals. This has doubled the factory area and the number of workers, calling for an upgrade to their two way radio communications.

The plant was in urgent need of a more powerful radio system that could grow with the business. One that would increase worker effectiveness, and meet the strict safety regulations enforced by the industry. Morrisons turned to Brentwood Communications who are experienced in providing advanced radios for this demanding sector. By carrying out a free site-survey, Brentwood would discover the most suitable radio equipment for the plant.

Our solution

After in-depth trials, Brentwood’s engineers decided that Motorola digital radios would keep employees fully-connected as well as safe. They concluded that production workers required the basic handheld radio DP2400, whilst senior staff and security needed the more sophisticated DP4800. Brentwood also supplied desktop radios (DM4600) to office-based managers, so they could quickly contact radio users throughout the plant.

These digital radios are tough and resilient and offer unsurpassed functionality. Features such as ‘intelligent audio’ and ‘voice operated transmit’ make them easy to use – even in loud, frenetic environments.

With the latest technology at their fingertips, managers are able to talk to selected individuals or work groups; and even interrupt another conversation to deliver a critical message when required.
