More informationRunwell Hospital needed to improve the support for both staff and patients using an advanced radio system with GPS capability.
For security purposes, they wanted managers and staff to be in constant touch with each other. The main office would also need to know the whereabouts of staff at all times. The two-way radios selected would have to be durable and weatherproof for outdoor use. And because the staff dealt with many volatile patients, it was vital these practitioners had the ability to communicate at the touch of a button
Brentwood carried out thorough tests and trials throughout the hospital buildings and grounds. The engineers found digital technology, with GPS, offered the most secure and efficient option.
For the staff they selected the Motorola digital DP3601. For management they decided a desktop radio connected to a laptop for use in the office.
The desktop system allows managers to communicate with staff, and monitor their position in real-time on-screen. It also has the ability to time-log, and voice-record, every call made.
At the touch of a button, the staff can make private calls to individuals, as well as talk to the whole team. They can also make and receive private text messages. The large ‘Emergency’ button allows them to alert colleagues, whenever they need help.
