Following our site survey, the most reliable analogue radios to achieve optimum coverage were the Motorola CP040 (for onshore) and the ICOM M87 (offshore). Our engineers also recommended a desktop mobile radio, so the office personnel could talk to both sets of workers.
Motorola CP040: This multi-channel radio is renowned for being robust, dependable and easy to use. The battery can last for up to 19 hours – perfect for long shifts. Managers are able to liaise with all the staff at once, or switch channels for private one-to-one conversations.
ICOM M87: This powerful radio is perfect for staff working offshore. The radio is lightweight, tough and even submersible. Capable of operating in extreme marine environments, its simplicity allows users to respond rapidly to events. The large capacity lithium-ion battery also provides a solid 15 hours of operating time .
